I use the highest quality colored pencils and archival watercolor paper to create a portrait that can be treasured for a lifetime.

How to commission a portrait

Commissioning a portrait is a simple process. I work directly from your photos, so it's very important that the photos you provide are high-quality. The better the photograph, the more realistic and lifelike the portrait. If you have any questions about choosing a photo, please message me. I am happy to help! If your pet has passed away, we can choose from the photos you have available.

Once we have confirmed your reference photo and the desired size of the artwork, I ask for a nonrefundable booking fee of 25% that will be applied to your final balance.

After work has started on your portrait, I will keep you updated throughout the process and send you work-in-progress shots. You will only be invoiced for the remaining balance when you are happy with your portrait.

Prices shown are for a head and shoulders portrait on a white background. Please message me to inquire about options including full body portraits, backgrounds, and additional sizes.

Artwork is presented unmounted and unframed, ready for your frame.

Tips for a good reference photo

Use a good quality camera or phone. To check the quality of the photograph, zoom in on the pet's eyes. I like to be able to see reflections and detail in the eyes.
Take the photograph in natural light. This can be outside or near a window, but avoid direct sunlight and do not use flash.
Get eye-level with the subject for the most flattering and realistic perspective.
Perhaps most importantly, choose a pose that captures your pet's personality!
